Cooking It Up: Pioneer Style

Many bloggers across blog land have heard about Ree Drummond of  ”The Poineer Woman” blog. If you haven’t then you will definitely want to visit her blog at: http://thepioneerwoman.com/

Ree is a transplanted city girl who now lives and works on a ranch in Oklahoma.

She shares with her blog visitors the nitty gritty about what it is like to be a ranch wife and mom, and she does it with a writing style that will rope you in.  Her writing style is both casual yet fun, and gives the reader a true glimpse into life on a hard working ranch.

On her blog she shares about cooking, her love for photography, homeschooling four children, and much more.

Ree recently spent a year an a half creating her new cookbook called, ” The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes From An Accidental Country Girl.”

At Christmastime  last year I knew that her book had just come out a few weeks prior to the time that I had begun  hitting that desperate stage for great gift ideas. You know when you have several folks on your gift list, but have drug your heels on getting it in gear to find the perfect gift that they will love?  Well, when I came across the book I was tickled. It was exactly what I needed for my gift recipients (Who consequently are both fans of Ree’s blog). What better gift than Ree’s cookbook?

Of course I could not resist buying a copy of the book for myself, and boy am I glad I did!

It is one of the prettiest cookbooks I have come across in quite a long time (No, Ree did not pay me to say this).

The pages of the book have some of the prettiest photos of ranch life a cookbook could have. In the pages of the book Ree shares images of her ranch life with her children and her husband, who she fondly refers to as her “Marlboro Man.” Oh!, and the recipes… the recipe photos are lovely too. She includes step by step photos on how to create such things as “Rib-eye Steak With Whiskey Cream Sauce,” “French Breakfast Puffs,” “Marlboro Man’s Favorite Sandwich,” and much more.

This is definitely one cookbook you’ll want to add to your cookbook collection. I’m sure glad I did!

Cookbook is available through Amazon.com
